Return Policy for Cowboy Tools

At Cowboy Tools, we specialize in selling used construction tools and safety equipment, including safety harnesses, boots, hard hats, and more. Due to the nature of used products, we have implemented a strict no-returns policy to ensure clarity and fairness for all customers. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase, as it outlines your responsibilities and our obligations.


1. No Returns on Used Goods

  • All products sold by Cowboy Tools are used and are sold "as is" and "with all faults." As such, all sales are final.
  • We do not accept returns, refunds, or exchanges for any reason, except as required by law (see Section 4 below).
  • By purchasing from Cowboy Tools, you acknowledge and accept that you are buying used goods and that returns are not permitted.

2. "As Is" Disclaimer

  • All items are sold in their current condition, and we make no guarantees regarding their functionality, performance, or suitability for any specific purpose.
  • While we strive to provide accurate descriptions of each product’s condition, including any known defects or wear, we do not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of these descriptions.
  • Buyer Responsibility: It is your responsibility to:
    • Review product listings, descriptions, and images carefully before purchasing.
    • Inspect the product upon receipt to ensure it meets your needs.
  • Cowboy Tools assumes no liability for any discrepancies, defects, or issues not explicitly stated in the product listing.

3. Safety Equipment Responsibility

  • For safety equipment, including but not limited to safety harnesses, boots, hard hats, and other personal protective equipment (PPE), buyers are solely responsible for:
    • Inspecting the equipment for damage, wear, or defects.
    • Verifying its suitability for their intended use.
    • Ensuring it complies with all applicable safety standards, regulations, and industry requirements.
  • Cowboy Tools does not warrant that used safety equipment meets current safety standards or is appropriate for any specific purpose.
  • No Returns for Safety Concerns: We do not accept returns based on safety concerns, non-compliance with standards, or buyer dissatisfaction with the condition of safety equipment.
  • Buyers must independently assess the safety and condition of these items before use.

4. Legal Compliance Exception

  • In accordance with Alberta’s Consumer Protection Act, returns may be required if a product is materially not as described in the listing (e.g., if a tool is listed as functional but arrives broken).
  • Conditions for Legally Mandated Returns:
    • You must notify Cowboy Tools within 7 days of receiving the product.
    • The product must be returned in the same condition as when it was received.
    • Upon verification, Cowboy Tools may, at our sole discretion, offer a refund or replacement.
  • This exception applies only to cases where the product does not match its description. It does not cover buyer’s remorse, change of mind, or failure to adequately assess the product before purchase.
  • Shipping Costs: If a return is required by law, buyers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the issue is due to an error by Cowboy Tools (e.g., shipping the wrong item).

5. Transparency and Agreement

  • This Return Policy is prominently displayed on our website, during the checkout process, and in any purchase agreements.
  • By completing a purchase, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this policy.
  • If you do not agree with this policy, please do not make a purchase from Cowboy Tools.
